Our Library Adventures...

Charlie, Eva and Ollie would like to share their library adventures this week…

Charlie says:
"I was reading the book of Guinness World Records 2011. I skipped to page 65 and I found information about insects. I found out that centipedes have LOTS of legs!"

Eva says:
"I went on an adventure with the Cat in the Hat. Nick and Sally ran out of honey! Cat in the Hat received an invitation to the Queen Bee's hive for a dance…and they got honey from the bees! Nick and Sally went home and had a tasty honey sandwich"

Ollie says:
"I went on an adventure to a lab! A scientist wanted to make me a test subject. I had to taste lots of different types of sauce. I liked the sauce that came from a different planet!"

Library time...

When we visit the library we always jump into new adventures and learn new and exciting facts.  Romy, Alex D and Megan would like to share the  adventure they went on at the library this afternoon…

Romy
"Today I read a Fancy Nancy book and I went to a party with Nancy's sister Jo Jo. It was Jo Jo's birthday and it was a pirate party."

Alex D
"I read a non-fiction book called 'knights'. I learnt that in the olden days, knights had to practise and try hard to fight to protect villages. The gold swords were very sharp"

Megan
"I went on an adventure with Marmalade Duck. Marmalade Duck and I made some marmalade jam. Bear tried to stop us from making jam so he could give us his honey… but we wanted to keep our jam!"

Our New Sandpit...

We are SUPER lucky to have a brand new Sandpit to play in. On Monday, we got to have our first play...

We even have a Land Rover to play in! Think of all the adventures we can go on now!

Fractions!

We have started learning about fractions. We have talked lots about what a half 1/2 means. On Monday we took part in some special challenges to try and find a 1/2 in lots of different ways. We also had to record our ideas on a piece of paper and share them with the class...

Here we are trying to find a half of a cup of water. How would we find the half way mark?

If we have 12 lollies and we ate half, how many would we have left?

If a circle had 10 dots and an ant walked around half of the circle, how many dots would he walk past?

How much money is in the jar? If I gave you half, how much money would you have?

Hmmm 16 uni-fix cubes and I need to find half…

Got it! 8 +8 is 16….so if I count 8 cubes, I can find half!!

Half a blob of play-doh!

A trapezium is half of another shape…got it. A trapezium is half a hexagon!

If I filled this container to half way, how many cubes would I need?

First Week Of Swimming!

What a fabulous week of swimming! We are learning lots of special swimming skills like floating on our tummies, floating on our backs, blowing bubbles under water, kicking and lots more!
