Cushy Cushions...

What a fun and exciting time we have had making our cushy cushions this term!

We have all learnt that when you are creating something, it is very important to follow your plan.

First we had to design our cushions. Then we had to pencil the design onto the fabric. Next, we carefully painted the fabric. After that, we had to dye around the outside. Here are some photos of this stage of the process...

Next we had to pin 2 pieces of fabric together. We had to be careful not to prick ourselves!

Next, we had to sew our two pieces of fabric together and stuff our cushions! We were very lucky and had some fabulous helpers!

Do eggs float in water?

Today we investigated whether or not eggs floated in water. Do you think eggs float in water?

First we poured some water into a cup.

Next we put an egg into the water to see if it would float.

Nope, it didn't.

Next we poured some salt into our cup. Do you think this changed the result?

Yes it did! Wow amazing, eggs can float in salt water?

Why do you think eggs float in salt water?..........

That's right! The water becomes denser and thicker, making it easier for the egg to float! Good job guys.

Our clever violinist!

Room 2 was very lucky to hear some beautiful violin yesterday and it sounded amazing! You are very clever.

Long lost teddies...

Meet our special teddies... do you notice something about the two on the right? That's right, They are the same! Miss Head has the same bear as me! They are both called Missy Bear. Miss Head was given Missy Bear for her 3rd birthday, so she is very old!

Athletics

On Tuesday, we had our school Athletics.

We started with sprints...

Next we participated in a rotation, where we practised our running, jumping, throwing and relays...

We had lots of fun!
